Keepsake Hoop Art is a thoughtful and personalized way to acknowledge a marriage, anniversary, or birth. Make one to celebrate a special event in your own family, or make one to give as a personalized gift!
Words and dates are hand-stamped on fine linen fabric. Then the work can be adorned using simple embroidery stitches and button or felt details. The keepsake is framed using a 5-inch embroidery hoop, and the back is neatly finished with felt. A ribbon may be added for hanging the hoop art.
Artists may choose from the following three design options: anniversary (includes family name & year established), wedding (includes names of bride and groom and wedding date), or birth (includes name and date). All materials and step-by-step instructions will be provided. Be sure to come prepared with the name and date information needed for your special keepsake.
This workshop will be led by Lisa Steffl. Lisa lives in Watertown and is an art therapist and activities director. She has been working with new and seasoned artists of all abilities and ages for over 20 years. Her favorite personal creative pursuits include collage, textile work, sewing, costuming, and performing in local theatre.
