After school art classes are designed for students that love art and just want to make and learn more! Class meets once a week on Wednesdays. Due to spring break we only meet 3 times this month. Because of this, each class has been extended 20 min. Each month will be different. Sign up for at least one month at a time.

Over the course of the year, students will CREATE art using many different mediums( pencil, paint,oil pastel, papier-mache'…); EXPLORE different art forms & techniques (drawing, weaving, sculpture…), and DEVELOP a basic understanding of the art elements of design(line, shape, color, value, texture & space). On average, students will complete two projects per month.

THIS MONTH WE WILL BE FOCUSING ON WEAVING. WE WILL BEGIN BY MAKING A PAPER WEAVING MADE OUT OF HAND DECORATED PAPERS THAT THE STUDENTS WILL CREATE. AFTER THAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN HOW TO MAKE A SMALL WEAVING WITH YARN ON A HOMEMADE LOOM.
