After school art classes are designed for students that love art and just want to make and learn more! Class meets once a week on Wednesdays. On months that meet 3 times, the time will be extended 20 min. Each month will be different. Sign up for at least one month at a time.

Over the course of the year, students will CREATE art using many different mediums( pencil, paint,oil pastel, papier-mache'…); EXPLORE different art forms & techniques (drawing, weaving, sculpture…), and DEVELOP a basic understanding of the art elements of design(line, shape, color, value, texture & space). On average, students will complete two projects per month.

THIS MONTH, FOR OUR FIRST PROJECT WE WILL BE LEARNING ABOUT THE ARTIST JIM DINE (AN AMERICAN POP ARTIST) AND HIS COLORFUL HEARTS. STUDENTS WILL THEN CREATE THIER OWN MIXED MEDIA HEART USING CARDBOARD, TAPE, NEWSPAPER, PAPIER-MACHE, PAINT AND OIL PASTELS!
