After school art classes are designed for students that love art and just want to make and learn more! Class meets once a week on Wednesdays. On months that meet 3 times, the time will be extended 20 min. Each month will be different. Sign up for at least one month at a time.
Over the course of the year, students will CREATE art using many different mediums( pencil, paint,oil pastel, papier-mache'…); EXPLORE different art forms & techniques (drawing, weaving, sculpture…), and DEVELOP a basic understanding of the art elements of design(line, shape, color, value, texture & space). On average, students will complete two projects per month.

This month our focus will be DRAWING. We will begin with self-portraits.
A portrait is ..an artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person.

Learn the secrets to drawing a face that looks like you! Students will learn the basics of facial proportion as they use a little math and mirrors to draw their very own self-portrait. Students will work mostly with pencil and sharpie but introduce a color element to help create the mood.

$ 40.00 per month
$ 5.00 supply fee *may be higher during certain months
