Open Paint in the Afternoon

  • set apart art studio 725 West Main Street Watertown, WI, 53094 United States (map)

NO RULES. PLENTY OF INSPIRATION. Pick one of our paintings, or explore your own ideas.
Staff Artists will be on hand to offer guidance and encouragement. Just ask if you’d like to see a painting technique demonstrated or need help mixing colors.

Open Studio is perfect for anyone interested in painting independently with the assurance that an instructor is on hand to offer tips, guidance and encouragement. The afternoon times are perfect for kids or families to come on in and create something together.

Important! If you would like to paint one of our paintings, select from our galleries at the links below, then send an email to let us know your choice so that we can prepare paints, brushes and instruction sheets in advance of your arrival.

Reservations are highly recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. We reserve the right to cancel this session if nobody has signed up in advance, so if you're planning to paint with us, please make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.

Advise us in advance as to what you plan to paint so we can prepare in advance of your arrival. You can do this by Facebook messenger or email

Plan to arrive at the designated time.

A art instructor will be on hand to offer guidance and encouragement. If you’d prefer step-by-step instruction, we recommend you sign up for one of our instructed paint sessions.

12x16 or 12x12 is $25.00 Or for those of you who would like a little samller size 8x10 is available for $15.00.

If you don't complete your canvas in one session, you may return to the next open paint night for half price.

You're welcome to bring your own supplies, but the fee remains the same.

Aprons are supplied, but accidents happen—often! Acrylic paint does not wash out. Be sure to dress accordingly or be prepared to flaunt paint stains as your new fashion statement.
